Nashik: Irrigation scam whistleblower Vijay Pandhare, who recently joined the Aam Aadmi Party, has said that AAP`s victory in the Delhi Assembly polls is the first step towards the aim of a society rid of corruption.
"The voters want change and removal of corrupt people from power. They (voters) have initiated the first step in this regard through Delhi elections towards creating a corruption-free society," Pandhare told reporters here last evening. Pandhare, who joined AAP on December 1 after retiring from the Maharashtra Water Resources department, has expressed confidence that the party will get a good response in the state whenever it intends to contest elections. AAP has bagged 28 seats in the 70-member Delhi Assembly. Pandhare, the Water Resources department chief engineer and member of the state-level technical advisory committee, had earlier written to Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan about alleged irregularities in irrigation projects in the state.
