Congress will make Delhi number one state in the world: Sheila Dikshit

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday appealed to the people to bring Congress Party back to power, and said that in the coming years, Delhi will become the number one state in the world.

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday appealed to the people to bring Congress Party back to power, and said that in the coming years, Delhi will become the number one state in the world.
"Vote for that party which has brought Delhi to such a level that it is considered to be the number one state in India. In coming five years we will make it number one state in the world,` she said while addressing a rally here in the poll-bound state. She cautioned people not to repeat their mistake of voting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to power. "We changed the BJP government because they could not provide electricity or good governance. Delhi, during their rule, had deteriorated. Do not repeat this mistake again," she said. She further laid emphasis on the role of the Congress is developing the state, while highlighting schemes aimed at people`s welfare. "In the last 15 years, a person who was riding a cycle is driving a motorcycle, a person who was driving a motorcycle, is driving a car today. Today onion prices are around 20-25 rupee, and it will come down to 15-18 rupees,` she said. "We have decided to help the construction workers to who come to Delhi in search of livelihood, so that they can live in a safe and secure way. We have also decided to make double-decker flyovers to ease the traffic in the city,` she added. Delhi, which is presently under Congress` rule, will vote on December 4, and the results will be announced on December 8.
