New Delhi: Delhi BJP on Wednesday slammed Congress for being "anti-people" and said it will decrease the prices of vegetables, fruits and food grains within 20 days of coming to power.
"Before every election Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit makes big promises to people of Delhi for securing their votes, but after coming in to power never fulfils them. We will decrease the prices of vegetables, fruits and food grains within 20 days of coming to power. "Dikshit has become despotic and anti-people. She will have to pay for it in the assembly election," said Harsh Vardhan, BJP`s chief ministerial candidate. There are hundreds of "jhuggis" behind the residence of Rahul Gandhi, but the lights of development have not reached, he said. "On the other hand Congress led by Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi and Dikshit are continuously making promises to the people that they will turn Delhi into heaven," Vardhan said. Accusing Congress of "not believing in constitutional institutions," Vardhan said the party`s manifesto has no where promised to make the institution of Lokayukta a powerful body. He has appealed to people make a "final decision" this time. "They (voters) should help in forming BJP government under the leadership of Narendra Modi at Centre and BJP Government in Delhi so that the country and Delhi may make rapid progress," said Vardhan.
