Can you trust Congress? Narendra Modi in MP rally

Shandol: Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed a rally here in poll bound Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday and launched a scratching attack on the Congress and lauded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Addressing the people gathered for his rally, Modi said that he was not in Shandol district for an election visit.
“I am not here only to ask for votes, this district is a Tirth Kshetra (religious place) for me,” he said.
Sounding poll buggle in Madhya Pradesh, Modi heaped praise for Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and said that the BJP government has worked towards development.
“Shivrajji`s government has worked towards every section of the society,” Modi added.
Modi also lauded the lauding the phenomenal work of Chouhan in improving maternal heath in the state.
“The people of Madhya Pradesh consider Shivrajji as their own and consider him as part of their family.”
He also congratulated the MP Chief Minister for giving opportunities to the youth and building medical and engineering colleges.
Attacking the Congress, the BJP leader said, “people are angry with the Congress. They want to punish it.”
Modi asked the people whether the Congress worked for women and children in the last fifty years.
Praising Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Gujarat Chief Minister said that the former prime minister created a separate ministry and allotted a separate budget for ‘adivasis’. Attacking the Congress on the issue of giving rights to adivasis, Modi told the people that “Congress comes to ask for your votes and talks about poor, marginalised.”
“Congress feels by taking name of poor 50 times a day they become compassionate for the poor,” said Modi.
Modi said: “In whichever state the BJP is in power it has put on efforts for the development of tribal communities.”
Raising the poll pitch in Madhya Pradesh, the BJP leader asked the people to distance themselves from Congress as the grand old party has broken promise.
“Poor do not like to beg or get things for free. They want a life with dignity, they want to work & earn a living, but our Congress friends mock the poor.”
“The Congress promised to reduce prices in 100 days. Did that happen,” Modi asked the gathering.
Modi said that whatever promise the Congress is making in Madhya Pradesh, it should first try to implement in statel like Maharashtra, Karnataka which are being governed by it.
The crowd shouted a no when Modi asked, “Can you trust Congress promises or the words of their leaders.” The BJP leader also accused the Congress of misleading the people and asked the electorate to never trust the grand old party.
