Four cops suspended for assaulting woman

Moradabad (UP): Four police constables were suspended for allegedly assaulting a woman during an altercation with her family members over a trivial issue. On August 15, the complainant Vikas was going somewhere with his family when he was hit by the bike of police constable Sajid, who was in civil dress, police said.

There was an argument between the two during which Vikas attacked Sajid, police said, adding that the constable then called up his colleagues Dharmendra, Amit and Anuj and they beat Vikas and his relatives. In his FIR, Vikas alleged that a woman member of his family, who was trying to intervene in the brawl, was also beaten up by the cops. After the incident, SSP Rajesh Modak ordered suspension of the four constables and the CO (Katghar) has been asked to investigate into the allegations, police said. PTI
