Solar panel scam: Chandy’s fate to be decided after HC order, says Congress

A decision on the fate of beleaguered Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will be taken only after the order of the High Court in the solar panel case, Congress indicated on Wednesday.

New Delhi: A decision on the fate of beleaguered Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will be taken only after the order of the High Court in the solar panel case, Congress indicated on Wednesday. "The High Court has given an observation. I have no right to comment on the observations. When the order will come, we will talk (react)", party spokesman Raj Babbar told reporters.
His remarks came close on the heels of Chandy categorically ruling out his resignation in the wake of critical observations by High Court in the case. Chandy said in Thiruvananthapura that the court had not passed any sharp remark against him as reported by the media. "There is no question of resignation. That is not going to happen. The court has not made any remark against me," he said. The Congress leader said he was making this clear after getting all the details of what had transpired in the court yesterday from the Director General of Prosecution and the Advocate General. Referring to the opposition demand that he should step down and order judicial probe, Chandy said that was not warranted as his office had nothing to do with the scam and he had nothing to hide. PTI
