Mumbai, April 06: Congress nominee Priya Dutt, who is
contesting Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North-Central seat,
could not file her nomination papers on Monday as she was stuck in
traffic jams.
"I was a bit late. Thanks to traffic jams and crowd
outside here, I could not reach on time. I could not file the
nomination papers as the office was closed," Priya Dutt told
reporters outside the Collectorate in suburban Bandra.
Asked about huge traffic across the city, she said, "In
every commercial hub, traffic jams are inevitable. We have to
face them."
To a query that her brother and actor Sanjay Dutt was
absent and would not campaign for her, Dutt said, "He (Sanjay)
is always with me."
Dutt, accompanied by party Mumbai chief Kripashankar
Singh and supporters, said the next date for filing the
nomination was not yet been finalised.
