Mumbai: Relationships in today’s world are quite complicated. The emotion of hate being the dominant factor in the submissive love. If relationships were not enough to fizzle out two souls in love, the concept of long distance came in. Long distance relationships are a real stress givers in today's time.

With a constant increase in travelling due to work commitments and lack of enough time in a 24-hour day, long distance relationships are becoming difficult to maintain and love is gradually disappearing. 

Here are a few things you could consider to save your long distance from going down the drains. 
1)   Grace the Gratitude
Not everyone is fortunate enough to experience the feeling of ‘being in love’. Falling for someone and getting the same love in return is a boon in today’s world! So, next time a fight arises and you think of walking out of your long distance relationship, count all the good things the relationship has given you. Maybe counting them will change your mind or at least give you the strength to sustain it. 
 
2)    Assess Your Relationship 
Old school is the best teacher they say. Our elders have experienced relationships in the true sense. Point take out a piece of paper, make two columns and write down the positives and negatives of your partner. Evaluate them and keep these things in mind. You will surely be considerate and compromising in your next argument! 
 
3)   The ’Me’ time -Happy or Lonely
The ‘Me’ time that you were missing after getting into a commitment, is back! This is an advantage of being in a long distance relationship. Though it can get lonely at times when you don’t find your loved one next to you, but then you can make yourself happy in the company of your friends and family.
 
4)   Communication is your saviour! 
It is time to discover all the possible means of communication available to human existence! From emails, chats, messaging, online chat apps to video calling, all of these will come to your rescue. We are fortunate enough to have so many communication means available to us. But remember not to overuse them and harm your relationship. Constantly trying to track your partner will do you no good.
 
5)   Be with each other without being with each other!
Video calling is the hero of the day here. Plan a specific activity like watching a movie or having a dinner or playing a game and do it together. This not going to change the fact that you are into long distance, but for the time being it can make you feel that your partner is right by your side doing the same thing as you. 
 
6)   Avoid unwanted situations
Remember when your partner was apprehensive about that colleague of yours who was crushing on you or for that ex of yours? In a long distance doing things that your partner dislikes can unleash the doubt, possessiveness, jealousy in your partner. Best is to avoid such situations.
