New Delhi: BJP 's prime ministerial candidate for 2014 General Elections Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that the Congress mocks the poor while for his party the poor were a manifestation of God.

Modi posted on the micro-blogging site Twitter – "Great being in MP today. Joined 4 public meetings. Urged people to vote for BJP's performance over failed promises and corruption of Congress."

He also posted – "These elections are between development agenda and votebank politics. People are angry with Congress and want to punish it."

The Gujarat CM further said, "Congress keeps mocking the poor. For us poor are manifestations of God. A person may be born poor but we must work to ensure no one dies poor."

In another tweet he wrote – "Congress makes grand promises in poll bound states but why can't they implement the same promises in states they govern? Why mislead people?" He also tweeted – "Wherever BJP has formed governments, we have worked for tribal communities. I congratulate for his work in this field."

Modi also said that people of MP consider Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan a part of their family.

Modi addressed several rallies today in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh and urged the people to rout the Congress. He said that the Congress was untrustworthy and had always failed to fulfil its promises.

Voting is due in MP on November and results will be declared on December 08. BJP is aiming to come back to power for the third time in a row in MP and Chouhan is looking for a hat-trick as the CM of the state.
