Congress levelling false charges, hitting below belt: Chouhan

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan alleged that the Congress not only levelled false charges against him but also hit him below the belt to prevent him from scoring a hat-trick in the state.

Indore: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday alleged that the Congress not only levelled false charges against him but also hit him below the belt to prevent him from scoring a hat-trick in the state and getting re-elected.
"Congress leaders are enraged these days as they are aware that the BJP will come to power in Madhya Pradesh for the third time in a row. Therefore, they have levelled false allegations against me and even hit me below the belt," Chouhan said, addressing a poll rally in Mhow town near here, from where state industries minister Kailash Vijaywargiya is contesting polls for a second time. "Congress is making false promises to the people in the state, while on the other hand the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre is unable to check inflation which has caused lot of hardship to the people," he said. Targeting Congress for its misrule during former MP CM Digvijay Singh`s tenure, he said that during those days, the state was known for its potholed roads and darkness because of shortage of power. He promised that the proposed metro service would not be confined to just Indore, but also be extended to Mhow. However, objecting to Chouhan`s statement on the metro train, the Congress said that it is a violation of the Model Code of Conduct and filed a complaint with the Election Commission.
