After Narendra Modi, Vasundhara Raje uses term `khooni panja`

Zee Media Bureau Barmer: After BJP`s prime ministerial candidate for 2014 General Elections, Narendra Modi, now the party`s chief ministerial candidate for the Rajasthan Assembly elections Vasundhara Raje has now used the term `khooni panja`(bloodied hand) while addressing a crowd in the state. Raje reportedly used the term at an election meeting in Barmer on Tuesday. While waving her hand on which lotus flowers was painted she said that the hand, when it is with the Congress is a khooni panja. She added that when lotuses were put on it, hundreds of people reach out to hold the hands. Rajasthan is due to vote on December 01 and results are to be announced on December 08. The BJP is hoping to take advantage of the anti-incumbency factor in the state and come back to power after five years. Raje was the CM of the state in the last government of the BJP in the state. The Election Commission had issued notice to Modi for alleged poll code violation over his `khooni panja` remark at an election rally in Chhattisgarh. Modi had told the gathering in Dongargarh Rajnandgaon on November 07 that if they wanted the state to be protected from the bloody hand then they should give their vote to the lotus. The Congress had moved the EC on November 10 against the Gujarat CM. In his nine-page reply filed yesterday evening before the commission Modi said he had only exercised his right of free speech by criticising the policies and work of Congress and thus has not violated the model code. "I am of the clear opinion that I have not violated the said provision," he said. Modi said even though he has himself been subjected to much criticism, including use of abuses against him, he has maintained the dignity of political discourse and has not made personal attacks on any of his opponents.
