Ensure no animal is used for campaign purpose: EC to Rajasthan officials

Jaipur: The Election Commission has directed all district election officers to ensure that no animal is used for electioneering purposes by any candidate in poll-bound Rajathan.

The direction was given in the wake of complaints by various organisations about alleged cruelty on animals during the election campaign, Chief Election Officer Ashok Jain said here on Monday.

The complaints pertained to candidates using animals like elephant, horse and camel for campaigning and slogans relating to them, he said.
