New Delhi: Bajaj Auto entered into a new motorcyle segment of the two-wheeler market, currently dominated by Royal Enfield and launched the Dominar 400.

Bajaj claims the Dominar 400 is the first in a series of big muscular bikes for the fast-growing premium biking segment,

The bike is priced at Rs136,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs150,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the non-ABS and dual-channel ABS variants, respectively, the Dominar 400 is Bajaj Auto’s biggest bike—in terms of engine displacement.

How much will the new entrant dent into the market already dominated by the Royal Enfield bikes which have a huge and dedicated fan following.

The Bajaj Dominar 400 Vs Royal Enfield Classic 

Engine:

The Bajaj Dominar 400 has derived its engine from the KTM 390 Duke, making it the biggest and the most powerfull engine. The 373.3cc DTS-i engine is tuned to produce 34.5bhp of power at 8000rpm and 35Nm of torque at 6500rpm. In comparison,the Royal Enfield comes with the 346cc engine churning out 19.8bhp at 5280rpm and 28Nm of torque at 4000rpm. 

Features:

The Bajaj Dominar 400 sports a full-LED headlamp with Auto Headlamp On (AHO) function, a slipper clutch, illuminated switchgear, all digital instrument console with an auxiliary indicator unit on the fuel tank, split seats, twin disc brakes, dual-channel ABS etc.

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is a rtro-styled cruiser that lacks many of the features mentioned above in the Dominor 400.

Safety: The Bajaj Dominar 400 features ABS, while Royal Enfield is likely to introduce the same when the next major update comes for the Classic series.

The Royal Enfield Classic 350, which is the non-ABS versions, is the cheapest, priced at ₹ 1.31 lakh, which makes it around ₹ 5000 cheaper than the Dominar which is priced at ₹ 1.36 lakh.
