New Delhi: The country's largest two wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp Monday forayed into the 125-cc scooter segment with the launch of all new product -- Destiny 125. The new model comes with two variants priced at Rs 54,650 and Rs 57,500, respectively (ex-showroom).

The Destini 125 draws its power from a new 125cc energy boost engine, producing power output of 8.7 bhp @6750 rpm and maximum torque of 10.2 nm @5000 rpm.

The powertrain offers 17 percent higher torque and 9 percent higher power than the existing 110cc scooter, the company said.

The Destini 125 comes packed metal body with a bold premium chrome chest, signature tail lamp and winkers, side chrome garnishes , stylish cast wheels, new body color mirrors, and a dual tone seat cover.

The scooter provides superior road comfort and safety with telescopic suspension and an integrated braking system. It has an external fuel filling system, remote key opening, mobile charging port , and boot light for customer convenience.

“The Destini 125 brings hero’s intuitive i3s (idle - stop - start system) to the 125cc scooter segment for enhanced efficiency. In addition, a digital - analog speedometer, side stand indicator and service due reminder assu res a hassle - free ride,” HeroMoto Corp said.

It will compete with the likes of Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa and Grazia, and TVS NTorq.

Hero MotoCorp will start retailing Destiny from Delhi/NCR from Tuesday, while sales in other parts of the country would begin in the next 3-4 weeks.

The bike will be available in four metallic colors – Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black and Pearl Silver White.
