MP CM waives off electric bills of people below poverty line

Agar Malwa: With polls in mind, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced a waiver of electricity bills of people below the poverty line, upto June 2013.

"We have already fixed the power bill of farmers at the rate of Rs 1200 per year, after which people belonging to the below poverty line (BPL) category also asked me to give them some relief.

"Therefore, power bills of the BPL category will be paid (waived off) by Chouhan till June 2013," he announced after launching Agar Malwa as Madhya Pradesh's 51st district.

Chouhan also announced provision of land lease rights to those not having their own houses at the place where they reside at present.

He announced that industries would be set up in Agar Malwa and Shajapur districts to generate employment opportunities for the people.

If elected for a third term, his government would provide Narmada water to the people of this region, he said.
