Manjhi is a Legislative Assembly constituency in the Saran district and a part of the Maharajganj Lok Sabha constituency of Bihar. According to the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India, the Manjhi Assembly constituency comprises Lauwa Kala, Manikpura and Karhi gram panchayats of Baniapur community development block; Kouru-Dhouru, Sitalpur, Manjhi West Part, Manjhi East Part, Tajpur, Marhan, Bareja, Sonbarsa, Ghorhat, Bangara, Dumari, Lejuar, Jaitpur, Daudpur, Inayatpur, Baleshra and Nasira gram panchayats of Manjhi community development block; and Jalalpur community development block Gautam Singh of the Janata Dal (United) had won the 2010 Assembly Elections by defeating Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Hem Narayan Singh. The Manjhi Assembly segment has an electorate of 2,66,352 - 1,42,547 are men and 1,23,795 are women.
