Patna: Janata Dal United leader Sharad Yadav, who has openly expressed his displeasure over Nitish Kumar's decision to dump the 'Grand Alliance' in Bihar and re-join BJP, may float a new political outfit soon.

According to News18.com, the veteran JDU leader is hugely disappointed with Nitish Kumar's decision, which he claimed was taken without his consent.

Sharad Yadav is believed to be currently exploring the possibilities of forming a new political outfit and aligning with the Congress-led UPA.

An indication in this regard came this morning when Sharad Yadav's close aide Vijay Verma claimed that the Bihar strongman was meeting leaders of JD(U)’s state units.

Verma further revealed that Yadav is also in touch with other “like-minded parties.”

Verma also indicated that a formal announcement in this regard could be made this week.

A lot of state level leaders in the ruling Janata Dal United are of view that Sharad Yadav is not on board with Nitish’s plans.

"Sharad ji is our senior leader but has taken a different path. He is free to take any decision," JDU's chief spokesman, Sanjay Singh, was quoted as saying.

This comes days after Sharad Yadav expressed his displeasure over Nitish Kumar's decision to re-join BJP-led NDA and form a new government in Bihar.

On July 26, Nitish Kumar had abruptly ended the coalition government he had formed with the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress by resigning as the Bihar CM. He had formed a government with the BJP the next day.

In his first reaction to the breakup of 'Grand Alliance', Sharad Yadav described the turn of events in Bihar as “unfortunate”.

“I don't agree with the decision in Bihar, its unfortunate. The mandate by the people was not for this,” the former JD(U) president told reporters outside Parliament.

RJD chief Lalu Yadav also attacked Nitish for dumping the alliance and claiming that no one is capable to take on Narendra Modi in 2019 General Elections.
