Health minister Tapan Chakraborty said that medical experts have advised the state government to use second generation drugs instead of traditional medicines to prevent malaria.
The state health department has sent 25 malaria surveillance teams to Dhalai, Unokoti and North Tripura, the worst affected districts since last week.

Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers have been given instant PF diagnosis kits throughout the state, he said.
