Mumbai: The third Dhamaal instalment - Total Dhamaal - went on floors on Tuesday as Aamir Khan sounded the Mahurat clap, Madhuri Dixit switched on the camera and Anil Kapoor directed the Mahurat shot for Ajay Devgn’s Total Dhamaal, an out-and-out comedy film.

Ajay, who has teamed up with Indra Kumar, took to Twitter to share a photograph that also has his Ishq co-star Aamir in the frame.

Check out the pic below:

Aamir and Ajay had created wonders as the adorable lover boys in Indra Kumar’s Ishq way back in 1997. Its been over 20 years! And it was obvious that the trio would go on a nostalgia trip!

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share images from the Mahurat ceremony.

He tweeted:

“Aamir Khan sounds the mahurat clap... Madhuri Dixit switches on the camera... Anil Kapoor directs the mahurat shot... #TotalDhamaal shoot begins today... Directed by Indra Kumar... 7 Dec 2018 release (sic).”

And added, “#TotalDhamaal stars Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jaaferi and Boman Irani... Presented by Fox Star Studios... Produced by Ajay Devgn Films, Ashok Thakeria, Markand Adhikari, Anand Pandit and Fox Star Studios (sic).”

The film is special because it will mark the onscreen reunion of 1990s jodi Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit after 20 years.

Total Dhamaal was initially slated to release on Diwali and was about to clash with Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan, reports suggest. But the makers chose to push the film’s release by about a month to garner better response at the Box Office.

Interestingly, Ajay’s Golmaal Again clashed with Aamir starrer Secret Superstar on Diwali in 2017. So looks like the makers are in no mood to repeat a clash.

Ajay has already proved that he is a versatile star. He can set the silverscreen ablaze as fearless rugged cop Bajirao Singham in the Singham franchise and can also tickle your funnybone as child-like Gopal in Golmaal series.

The first two Dhamaal instalments didn’t have a leading lady. It has been an all boys’ film but Indra Kumar has decided to introduce two new characters in the upcoming instalment. Wonder what they will have in store for us.
