Aamir Khan may take some more time to work with Priyanka Chopra – Here’s why

Aamir Khan has reportedly walked out of Mahesh Mathai’s Rakesh Kumar biopic.

Mumbai: Aamir Khan has working with most of the leading ladies in the Tinsel Town till date. From Madhuri Dixit to Juhi Chawla, Raveena Tandon to Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan to Kajol, Anushka Sharma to Katrina Kaif. But the Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood hasn’t yet shared screen space with Priyanka Chopra.

Fans who were looking forward to see them together in Mahesh Mathai’s Salute based on India’s first astronaut Rakesh Sharma’s trip to the moon, will have to wait a little longer.

Reports published a few months back suggested that the former Miss World has been roped in to play Aamir’s wife in the film which would have had the actor essaying Rakesh Sharma.

But if the latest buzz is anything to go by, Aamir has walked out of the project.

“There were some points of disagreement between him and the creative team,” DNA quoted a source as saying.

Aamir was reportedly planning to start shooting for the film after completing Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Thugs of Hindostan co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Had Salute gone on floors by now, it would have released during Independence Day next year. But now that Aamir has reportedly walked out of the project, wonder who is going to replace him.

Interestingly, there’s another space film in Bollywood on the anvil. Sushant Singh Rajput too is all set to play an astronaut in Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s Chandamama Door Ke. The young actor has been undergoing rigorous training session for the film which also stars R Madhavan.

But as Bollywood gears up for Salute and Chandamama Door Ke, Tamil cinema’s Tik Tik Tik starring Jayam Ravi will become India’s first space film.
