Alia Bhatt can’t wait for Brahmastra starring Ranbir Kapoor

Mumbai: Alia Bhatt has all the reasons to be elated and thrilled. The young and very talented actress has struck a mammoth movie deal with her mentor Karan Johar. Daughter of veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan, Alia, who was launched by Johar in Student of the Year has proved her mettle as an actress since her debut.

And now, she is all set to star opposite heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor in Dharma Productions’ Brahmastra, a fantasy adventure to be presented in three parts.

The film is apparently Johar’s most ambitious ventures so far. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, known to be a very dear friend of Ranbir, Brahmastra will also feature Amitabh Bachchan.

Alia took to Twitter to share her excitement.

This will be Alia’s first film with Ranbir. She has shared screen space with Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, Randeep Hooda, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan so far. And it will indeed be interesting to see her chemistry with Ranbir on screen.

Alia was introduced as a typical Bollywood heroine by Karan Johar in her debut film. But the pretty girl stumped the audiences by her performance in Imtiaz Ali’s Highway. She swept people off their feet by putting up an awe-inspiring performance in Udta Punjab.

She has had a string of hit films to her credit while Ranbir hasn’t had a great time at the Box Office. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was the only film among his last few releases - Besharam, Tamaasha, Roy, Jagga Jasoos - to do a decent business at the BO.

And hence this mega-budget trilogy may infuse a new lease of life into RK’s professional graph.

RK is an actor par excellence. All he needs right now is a blockbuster to his credit. We can’t wait for this one. What about you?
