Mumbai: Come January 25, we will see not one but two big films hitting theatres – Akshay Kumar’s Padman and Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh starrer Padmavat. Moviegoers and trade experts have been talking about the big clash and so is legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan.

The veteran took to Twitter Tuesday morning to make an interesting observation about the two films making headlines.

He tweeted: “T 2526 - 'PADMA' the operative key word for film release on 26th Jan 2018 :

PADMAvat & PADMAn .. !!

For the unversed, Akshay’s Padman directed by R Balki co-straring Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor was initially slated to release on January 26. But just a few days back, Akshay preponed the film’s release by one day. Hence, Padman will now release on January 25.

Meanwhile, it is being believed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s controversial film Padmavat (earlier named Padmavati), which was initially scheduled for December 1 release, will not make it to the screen on January 25.

However, the makers of Padmavat haven’t issued any official statement to confirm the same.

Bachchan, who is will make a special appearance in Padman, is visibly thrilled about the two films. He has worked with R Balki in Cheeni Kum and Paa and with Bhansali in Black.

So he would want both the films to do well at the Box Office. Padma holds the key and both the films have the ‘operative key word’!

Here’s some information about both the films:

Padman is inspired by Padma Shri awardee Arunachalam Muruganantham’s noble initiative to make machines that can produce affordable sanitary pads for women in the rural area. He has been instrumental in creating awareness about menstrual hygiene too. The film has been produced by Twinkle Khanna, Akshay’s wife.

Padmavat is reportedly based on Malik Muhammed Jayasi’s 1540s Awadhi poem titled Padmavat. The film is essentially revolves around historical characters Maharawal Ratan Singh, Rani Padmini / Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji.
