Fukrey Returns movie review: Choocha's premonition hits a jackpot

Filmmaker Mrighdeep Singh Lamba is back with a rib-tickling comedy-drama Fukrey Returns. And the best part about this sequel happens to be the fact that even if you haven't seen the first part, it's perfectly okay.

The film opens in an innovative style with the filmmaker giving you a flashback record of what happened and what's in store next. Now, Fukrey is known for Choocha (Varun Sharma) and his dreams.

We all have seen by now how his dreams are turned into a money-minting machine at the lottery gamble by Honey (Pulkit Samrat), Zafar (Ali Fazal) and Lali (Manjot Singh). All of this is crystal clear but part II is loaded with rib-tickling one-liners, powerful comic punches by the entire cast and some class act.

Fukrey Returns, and like literally! Richa Chadha aka Bholi Punjaban is released from Tihar Jail only to be more fierce and funny at the same time. Her deal with the scheming, wicked politician opens a can of worms and gets her into more trouble.

The Fukrey gang gets embroiled in an unwanted situation and this time Choocha gets another gift from God. What? He gets a premonition. Yes, he does. And the hilarious journey begins from then and there.

Their ultimate chase to look for a 'Khazana' if filled with several highs. Actor Pankaj Tripathi aka Pandit ji is one of the most underrated actors in Bollywood and we certainly want to see him play more such roles. His acting prowess is simply commendable and effortless.

Also, if you are somebody who for long has been wanting to visit the Zoo, then the screenplay has got something for you. Do check out some 'Tiger' actions on screen. No, we are not giving away anything more.

Pulkit, Ali, Manjot and Varun exude the freshness and give us major 'dejachoo'. The background tracks have a nice rhythm to it and the title track will stay with you. 'Fukrey Returns' is laced with funny dialogues to make it a great watch this weekend.

You can certainly book your tickets for Fukrey Returns to check out Choocha's premonition!
