New Delhi: Bollywood's 'Queen' Kangana Ranaut is currently busy shooting for her next big venture titled 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' in Hyderabad. But the actress recently escaped a near fatal accident while shooting a sword sequence reportedly.

According to Mid-Day.com, Kangana was hit by fellow actor Nihar Pandya's sword on the forehead which left her bleeding profusely. A sword-fighting scene was being shot when this fatal accident took place.

The report quotes a source as saying, “Kangana was immediately rushed to Apollo hospital nearby, where she was admitted into the ICCU. She got 15 stitches on her forehead and will be under observation in the hospital for a few days. The examining doctor said that it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone."

Quoting the producer Kamal Jain, the report mentions that although the scene was practiced many a times before hand, the timing while shooting the actual scene went wrong and Kangana suffered severe injury.

He said, “Kangana had to duck when Nihar attacked her, but the timing went wrong and Nihar's sword hit her forehead instead. It made a deep cut between her eyebrows. The drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes, but she put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him."

Report suggests that the actress will be discharged from the hospital in a week's time.
