Mahabharata: Aamir Khan to play Krishna, not Rakesh Sharma or Mogul after Thugs of Hindostan?

Mumbai: Speculations are rife that a film series on the great Indian epic Mahabharata is on the anvil and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan will play a pivotal role in it.

According to reports, the film will be co-produced by Mukesh Ambani. But there's has been no official announcement regarding the same.

Though Aamir has remained tight-lipped about his next and the supposed film on the Mahabharata, the superstar has often accidentally displayed his obsession with the subject. He had reportedly expressed his fondness for Krishna's and Karna's characters in the Mahabharata.

On his birthday last year, he accidentally let his obsession slip in front of reporters, an After Hrs report said.

According to a report in After Hrs, Aamir has declined a few good offers to focus on the film based on the Mahabharata. The superstar has passing up several roles including astronaut Rakesh Sharma and music mogul Bhushan Kumar, an insider said.

Post Thugs of Hindostan, Aamir will gear up for the film on the Indian epic.
