New Delhi: Amidst all the controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat will release on January 25, 2018.

The film had a special screening in the Art Of Living Ashram, Bangalore with the filmmaker SLB present at the event. Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was also present and found nothing objectionable about the movie. The screening took place on January 15, 2018.

Here are the pictures from the event:

As per reports, Sri Sri was surprised upon people's protest of the film, which is about Rajput honours & is a beautiful tribute to Rani Padmavati. Also, reports are that the Spiritual leader felt that the movie will make us feel proud and must be celebrated.

The movie was mired in controversy after various Rajput groups, including Rajput Karni Sena, raised their objections towards the content of the film.

During the certification process of the film, Bhansali appeared before a parliamentary panel where he said that the film is an adaptation of Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi's "Padmavat".

Featuring Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji, the film was given a U/A certificate from CBFC recently.
