New Delhi: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has become the latest hit machine of Hindi cinema. His films have always managed to ride high at the Box Office. Now, latest buzz states that the 29-year-old hunk has been offered filmmaker Zoya Akhtar's upcoming movie 'Gully Boy'.
Earlier, it was being said that Ranveer Singh has been roped in for this flick. But, it turns out that the dates of the 'Bajirao Mastani' star - which he dedicated to Zoya's film - were clashing with Shimit Amin’s next. According to a DNA report, Varun is now approached for the role of a rapper.
“Ranveer’s first loyalty is with YRF, hence when it was obvious he had to choose between Zoya and Shimit, he opted for his mentor Aditya Chopra’s production. Varun has liked Zoya’s story and is trying to work out his dates for the film, which starts next year,” a source was quoted as saying.
Ranveer is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 'Padmavati'. The movie will feature Ranveer as Alauddin Khilji, Deepika Padukone as Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor as Rawal Ratan Singh.
It is expected to release on November 17 next year.
