New Delhi: Bollywood's young gun Varun Dhawan has a huge fan following—all thanks to his wonderful acting skills and dashing looks. The actor has a great comic timing and can tickle your funny bones anytime.

According to Pinkvilla.com, Varun is keen on donning a director's hat. Yes! That's exactly what you read. The report quotes a leading tabloid as saying that the actor has already penned two screenplays and even showed it to his father and elder brother, who are both directors. However, they didn't approve of it.

The report quotes Varun as saying, “I have two directors at home and take their honest opinions really seriously. Maybe these screenplays did not measure up. But I also feel that the storylines were not to their taste and style of filmmaking. Now I am working towards writing something far darker, the kind of film I've always wanted to do and I want to produce it too, maybe act in it as well.”

Further adding he said, "I was often shooting these films on my cell phone but I don't want to go back to doing that because I'm a 70-mm actor now and I don't know how a short film from me will be received. Instead, I'd want to focus on a full-length feature which will work commercially and enable me to do many more films."

Varun will next be seen in 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' opposite Alia Bhatt. The film has hit the screens today.
