‘Harry Potter’ casts magic spell in China, earns $25.5m

Washington: The final chapter of JK Rowling`s ‘Harry Potter’ series is all set to become the biggest grossing film of the year, after recently grossing 25.5 million dollars in China.

‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2’ made an impressive debut in about 4,200 theatres over the weekend. The Chinese haul kept the Potter finale ahead overseas, where it is now playing in 61 countries, for the fourth weekend in a row. The movie has grossed over 1.3 billion dollars worldwide since its release, making it the third highest-grossing movie of all time, behind ‘Avatar’ and ‘Titanic’. ANI
