Bangalore: General Motors India on Friday launched premium hatchback Chevrolet Sail U-VA here on Friday at a price ranging between Rs 4.52 lakh and Rs 6.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
The car will be available in four variants in 1.2 litre petrol and three options in 1.3 litre diesel.
The petrol option will be available in four variants between Rs 4.52 lakh and Rs 5.68 lakh, while the diesel would be available between Rs 5.97 lakh and Rs 6.74 lakh, General Motors Vice President P Balendran told reporters here.
He said the company has received 10,000 enquiries so far for Chevrolet Sail U-VA and started delivery of around 200 vehicles. General Motors would be able to deliver the car as soon as bookings are made, Balendran added.
To a query, Balendran said the market is sluggish because of high interest rates, inflation and input costs, but the company should be able to grow in tandem with the industry.
He also said a company would not be taken seriously unless it creates excitement in the market by launching a new vehicle. "Cars are always launched keeping the long-term perspective in mind," he said.
