New Delhi: With competition for market domination increasing by the day, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country’s second-largest car maker by sales is planning on rolling out an all-new compact car in India to increase its share in the small car space, as per business daily report.
The next-generation new small car, code named BA will come in its highly accepted fluidic design language that characterises Hyundai’s i20, Verna and Elantra and will be placed between i10 and i20.
The other major features of this car will be reduced turning radius, good pickup, better visibility with large glass surfaces and great fuel economy.
Moreover the company can come up with lucrative options like 1.1 litres diesel engine.
The car is likely to be launched in India just ahead of the festive season this year, report added.
Overall market share of the company in the passenger vehicle space, which includes cars, vans and utility vehicles, slipped from 14.84 percent in the last fiscal to 14.36 percent in the first nine months to December this fiscal, according to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, or Siam.
