Underlining the strengths of its recently launched second generation 2016 Titan XD pickup, Nissan's monstrous Titan Warrior Concept has been created to "take the production version to the extreme."

Yokohama-based Nissan tasked its Californian team at Nissan Design America with the Titan Warrior Concept brief.

Its width and height were increased in the name of adding "massive bulk" to the on- and offroad original, though aerodynamic elements were not overlooked during the makeover.

Though the concept truck is not destined for mainstream retail, Nissan North America executive vice president José Muñoz offered some hints for would-be buyers.

"The TITAN Warrior Concept's interior reflects a premium outdoor lifestyle, closer in look and content to a new TITAN XD Platinum Reserve model than a stripped-down pre-runner," he said in a prepared statement.

And with Nissan partnering with Mercedes for the Damlier subsiduary's 2017 luxury pickup, motoring enthusiasts will be scouring both interior and exterior of the Titan Warrior Concept for any indication of what's to come.
