Bhopal: Non-metro cities have witnessed faster growth rate in comparison to metros in terms of sale of new generation cars and multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs), General Motors India Vice President P Balendran Friday said.
"The scenario has changed now. Last year, 65 percent sales were recorded in non-metro cities and 35 percent in metros, Balendran told reporters here Friday after launching Enjoy MPV in Madhya Pradesh.
"We believe that this is the right product for India in one of the market's fastest-growing segments," he said.
He said the company has achieved substantial localisation at the start of regular production of the new vehicle which is unprecedented for a global vehicle manufactured in India.
"Its introduction is another sign of our commitment to make Chevrolet the most preferred vehicle brand in India," he added.
