New Delhi: Just few days after it charged a Hyderabad passenger with Rs 9 lakh bill, app-based cab Ola has done it again – they have charge Rs 83,000 to a senior citizen passenger for Mumbai-Pune trip.

According to a report in Times of India, Kamal Bhatia, a senior citizen businessman from Ghatkopar got the shock of his life when Ola charged him Rs 83,000 for a Mumbai-Pune round trip.

The invoice said he had travelled 7,000 km in a span of 14 hours, which is at the speed of 500 kmph, TOI said in the report.

Bhatia and his family of four had booked an Ola cab from Mumbai to visit Pune for family marriage.

"We were there at the wedding through the day and started for Mumbai in the evening. We reached our place at 9.25 pm. When the driver, Rakesh, closed the trip, I received a soft copy of the bill. I went numb for a moment as it showed the amount as Rs 83,395," TOI quoted Bhatia as recalling.

However, it turned out that it was a clear case of sofware error which was rectified and the bill brought down to Rs 4,088.

Ola later apologized for the error and waived off the whole bill, the report said.

This report comes just a few days after Ola had charged a passenger, Ratish Sekhar, a bill of Rs 9,15,887 for just a distance of 450 kilometers.

Another case of software error, Ola had charged Sekhar for 85,427 kms when he had actually travelled just 450 kms.
