Bangkok: A fire at a Toyota factory near Bangkok Sunday night caused an estimated 50 million baht (about USD 1.7 million) damage, but will not affect production, the company said Monday.
Hirunruangrong, senior president of Toyota Motor Thailand, told the Bangkok Post that the explosion and ensuing blaze burnt down a factory warehouse for storing engine oil, a pallet used for oil transportation and 10 forklifts, reported Xinhua.
Earlier reports put the loss at 100 million baht (about USD 3.4 million).
He added that the incident does not affect production at the factory or its transportation of car parts to retailers. The factory remains in operation.
