Mumbai: Looks like Bollywood is going the Hollywood way. After hoards of Hollywood flicks that came out last year in 3D, filmmakers in B-town are also planning to do the same. Vikram Bhatt was the first to experiment with 3D in a horror film and now Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar are planning to make their film ‘Don-The Chase Begins Again’ in 3D format.
The film, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead as already been making waves. The makers have planned to dub the film in Tamil and Telugu and now the film will also be released in 3D in the two south-Indian languages, besides Hindi, on December 23.
Speaking to a daily, producer Ritesh Sidhwani said, “Looking at the demand for the brand ‘Don,’ we decided on the 3D format. We first did a few 3D conversion tests on the earlier ‘Don’ and the outcome was very good.”
The producer further added, “Since Farhan felt that the new format would make the ‘Don’ experience even more memorable and exciting, we decided to go ahead with the 3D format. I was in Los Angeles recently and saw some 3D conversion tests and was totally blown by the effect.”
Meanwhile, other filmmakers like Vikram Bhatt, Shirish Kunder and Sohail Khan are all planning to make their movies in 3D format. While Bhatt has ‘Raaz 3’ and ‘Dangerous Ishq’ lined up, Shirish Kunder has completed a schedule of ‘Joker’, his 3D film with Akshay Kumar and Sohail Khan will start his ‘Sher Khan’ with brother Salman Khan next year.
