Zeebiz BureauNew Delhi: Targeting Indian mass motorcycle segment, Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL) has launched Hayate, a 110cc bike, which will cost over Rs 40,000.
Hayate, meaning ‘Fresh Breeze’, is directed at the emerging Indian markets where customers want a bike for daily commute and good mileage. Pricing starts at Rs 40,162 for the kick start variant and Rs 42,162 for the electric start version.
The company is undertaking capacity expansion and strengthening its network. SMIPL will be increasing its annual capacity from the current 3.6 lakh units to 5.4 lakh units by 2013.
The company is growing at 25-30 percent and attempt would be maintained in the coming years.
While there has been slowdown in the two-wheeler segment in the country in the recent times, SMIPL expects the category to see an annual growth of 7-8 percent.
SMIPL, which started its India operation in February 2006, plans to add new model every year.
Models offered by the company, include Suzuki Access 125, Suzuki GS150R, Suzuki SlingShot Series and Hayabusa.
