Singer Kid Rock fined for brawl

Kid Rock has been ordered to pay USD 40,000 in damages.

Los Angeles: Singer Kid Rock has been ordered to pay USD 40,000 in damages after allegedly battering a man in a waffle house brawl.
The musician whose real name is Robert James Richie, was ordered to pay the amount in damages to Harlan Atkins, a music promoter, after a fight broke out in a waffle house between Atkins and Kid Rock`s entourage in 2007. Atkins claimed that the fight left him severely injured and in need of medical attention so he filed a civil suit against the group suing for compensatory damages, reported MTV online. The fight reportedly started after Atkins made a derogatory comment about a female friend of the 39-year old singer. The four men then pulled Atkins, 41, out of his seat and began to push him around. An 11 person jury in the case took less than a day to reach the verdict in favour of Atkins. They had viewed surveillance footage of the incident, which occurred back in 2007, as well as listening to the 911 call made by one of the waffle house employees. During the call, obscenity filled screaming and shouting can be heard in the background as well as the sound of a chair being thrown through a window, which Rock admitted to have done. PTI
