Katrina walks out of the remake of ‘The Italian Job’

Unable to manage her dates between an upcoming YRF flick and ‘Dostana 2’, Katrina has finally called it a day for Abbas-Mustan’s version of ‘The Italian Job’. Even though Katrina signed the remake of ‘The Italian Job’ almost eight months ago, but later she signed a couple of plum projects which clashed with Abbas-Mustan’s film. Apparently, Katrina left the project in spite of bagging a meaty role in the flick – much like that of Hollywood actress Charlize Theron in the original film.

Mumbai: Unable to manage her dates between an upcoming YRF flick and ‘Dostana 2’, Katrina has finally called it a day for Abbas-Mustan’s version of ‘The Italian Job’. Talking to a news daily on this newfound development, a source said, “There have been rumours that Katrina was not keen to do Abbas-Mustan’s ‘The Italian Job’. Apparently, she had even asked for some changes in the script. Obviously, Katrina walking off at this stage comes as a surprise, considering her role is extremely pivotal in the film.” One wonders why Katrina refused to do an Abbas-Mustan’s film, especially after their last release (‘Race’) set the Box Office on fire. It is believed that Katrina had some reservations on the length of her role. However, with the dates of ‘Dostana 2’ pushed to the end of 2010 and that of an untitled YRF flick scheduled for September, Katrina could not help but refuse the remake of ‘The Italian Job’, which is all set to go on floor in November. When contacted, Mustan said, “Yes it is true. There are a lot of date problems and she (Katrina) is no longer doing the film. As of now, we have Abhishek Bachchan, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Omi Vaidya in the film. One more hero and two girls still need to be cast. Everything will be done in a week’s time.”
