Mumbai: It was a rare honour and delight for Aamir Khan, who was in Toronto last week, promoting his wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut ‘Dhobi Ghat’ at the Toronto International Film Festival, when he met the legendary Sir Anthony Hopkins, who was also present at the festival for his film ‘You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger’. Apparently, ‘Mr Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan is a huge fan of Hopkins, who has starred in cult Hollywood flicks like ‘Legends of the Fall’, ‘The Silence of The Lambs’, ‘Hannibal’ and ‘The World’s Fastest Indian’. Talking to a news daily about Aamir-Hopkins meet, a source said, "Aamir and Sir Anthony chatted about films. They spent a lot of time together. The Hollywood giant even expressed a desire to see ‘Dhobi Ghat’." When enquired what did Aamir do when he was introduced to Hopkins? The source added, "They shook hands." Incidentally, at the Golden Globes in 2009, Hopkins was bowled over by Anil Kapoor (who was there to receive acclaim for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’), when the latter touched his feet on stage. It was a typical Indian custom to show respect to the elders, something Hopkins was not familiar with and as a result, he was startled by Anil’s gesture and immediately leapt a foot back.
