Mumbai: ‘Aisha’ might have failed to work wonders at the Box Office but this does dampen the spirits of ‘Love Sex aur Dhokha’ director Dibakar Banerjee, who is all set to reprise Sonam Kapoor-Abhay Deol jodi for his upcoming flick ‘Shanghai’. Buzz has it that while casting for the flick is still on, reports are rife that Banerjee has zeroed in on the ‘Aisha’ jodi for the lead. ‘Shanghai’ is a political thriller where Sonam-Abhay will be seen romancing each other. Apparently, Abhay Deol was Banerjee’s first choice for the two had worked together in ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’ Talking to a news daily on Abhay and Dibakar’s camaraderie, a source said, "Apart from having a great work equation, the two are also good friends off the set." Nevertheless, despite the lukewarm response to ‘Aisha’ at the Box Office, Dibakar is adamant on having Sonam and Abhay in ‘Shanghai’ as the source added, "Even though that film didn`t work, it hasn`t stopped film makers from approaching the two as leads for future projects. Dibakar has spent the last nine months working on the concept and ideation for the film. Unlike his previous films, this one will have violence as the core theme." Written by Urmi Juvekar, ‘Shanghai’ is a modern adaptation of the 1960s book titled `Z` by Vassilis Vassilikos. ‘Shanghai’ will be co-produced by PVR Pictures and is all set to go on floors by March 2010.
