Barton treats herself to a new Cadillac

London: She may not have enough money to pay rent, but Hollywood beauty Mischa Barton has splashed out USD 15,000 on a bright new Cadillac.The expensive new purchase may come as a surprise to her landlord, who sued the OC actress for unpaid rent on her New York apartment, reported Daily Mail online.

Letting agency MRA Realties Inc claim the actress owes three months of unpaid rent on her apartment in the trendy TriBeCa area of New York. She has owned a house in Los Angeles for several years, but started renting her apartment last autumn after she relocated to Manhattan to film `The Beautiful Life`. However the show, about a group of models living and working in the Big Apple, was cancelled in late September after just two episodes were broadcast. The 24-year-old looked happy as she drove out of the dealership with her new car, but was soon stranded on the road after running out of petrol. Luckily the paparazzi were on hand to point out her mistake, and give her a lift to the petrol station. The actress, best known for her role as Marissa Cooper in the OC, filled up a petrol cannister, and soon had her car back in full working order. PTI
