Dubai: Bollywood melody star Sunidhi Chauhan is set to perform for Indian music aficionados in Muscat, the capital city of Oman, next month. Chauhan, one of the top female playback singers from India, will perform at the City Amphitheatre on March 30. The show is staged in Oman by the NPA Events, a news channel has reported.
She is known for her famous songs such as Ruki Ruki from the (‘Mast’), Sheila Ki Jawani (‘Tees Maar Khan’), Desi Girl (‘Dostana’), Mehboob Mere (‘Fiza’), Dhoom Machale (‘Dhoom’), Kaisi Paheli (‘Parineeta’), Beedi Jalaayile (‘Omkara’), Aaja Nachle (‘Aaja Nachle’), Sajnaji Vari Vari (‘Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.’), Dance Pe Chance (‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’), Udi (‘Guzaarish’), Tee Amo (‘Dum Maro Dum), among others.
The “Indian Glam Diva” has won three Filmfare Awards after being nominated for about dozen times. She has also won two Star Screen Awards, two IIFA Awards and one Zee Cine Award, GIMA awards any many more.
Chauhan was a judge in the top Indian Television programme ‘Indian Idol’ season 5 and for the forthcoming season as well. She began singing at the age of four and was discovered by a TV anchor.
She won recognition through a televised singing contest, ‘Meri Awaz Suno’, which she won, and made her entrance into playback singing with the Hindi film ‘Shastra’. Her breakthrough was Ram Gopal Varma’s film – ‘Mast’, in which she sang the hit song, ‘Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi’.
She became the first Indian female singer to do an international collaboration after she collaborated with Spanish-born singer Enrique Iglesias on a song titled “Heartbeat (India Mix)” which was included in Iglesias’ album Euphoria (Special Indian Edition).
