Los Angeles: Danish filmmaker Susanne Bier is in negotiations to direct the English-language romantic comedy "Which Brings Me to You."
The Anonymous Content-produced picture is based on Julianna Baggott and Steve Almond`s epistolary novel. It centers on a single man and single woman who meet at a wedding and begin a relationship in which they write letters describing past romances and missteps. Published in 2006, the book earned strong reviews as a clever look at modern romance. Keith Bunin wrote the script for the film. Bier made a name for herself with the Danish-language melodrama "After the Wedding" -- which was nominated for a foreign-language Oscar in 2007 -- and went on to helm the Benicio del Toro-starring recovery tale "Things We Lost in the Fire" for Paramount. She also co-wrote and directed the Danish-language "Brothers," a war-themed drama that is being remade for Lionsgate with Jim Sheridan at the helm and starring Natalie Portman. She is attached to Universal`s romantic comedy "Lost for Words," which concerns a movie star who falls for his translator. Bureau Report
