New Delhi: Fortis Healthcare Thursday said it has taken over the operation and management of Raigarh-based O P Jindal Hospital, which is situated within the integrated township catering to Jindal Steel and Power Ltd's 3 MMT steel plant in the region.
The healthcare major has taken over the operation and management of the 100-bed O P Jindal Hospital in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, Fortis Healthcare said in a statement.
"This addition to our network of hospitals is in line with our commitment to delivering quality healthcare at affordable prices, to people in India's smaller towns and cities," Fortis Healthcare CEO Bhavdeep Singh said in a statement.
The move is in line with Fortis' strategy to strengthen its presence in India's tier II cities. The addition of O P Jindal Hospital takes Fortis' network to a total of 50 hospitals, it said.
The hospital is located within the campus of Jindal Steel & Power Limited and caters to their employees, families and the general population of Raigarh and surrounding areas, it added.
The 100-bed hospital offers services in various fields, including ophthalmology and internal medicine. It also offers primary healthcare services.
Fortis commissioned its first hospital in 2001 at Mohali, near Chandigarh, and has since expanded its operations to cover 50 hospitals around the country, with a total capacity of 8,000 beds.
