Chennai: The Reserve Bank would introduce new Rs 20 denomination bank notes with inset bearing 'F' with additional security features.
"The Reserve Bank will shortly issue a Rs 20 denomination bank notes with inset letter 'F' both numbering panels in Mahatma Gandhi Series 2005 bearing the signature of Governor D Subbarao", an RBI statement said.
Except for the change in the inset letter, the design of these notes is similar in all respects to the bank notes in Mahatma Gandhi 2005 series with additional security features, it said.
However, it said all the bank notes in the denomination of Rs 20 issued in the past would continue to be legal tender.
