Sydney named `World`s Best City`

Melbourne: Sydney has been voted as the Best City in the World for the eighth consecutive year in a poll by a renowned travel magazine.More than 25,000 readers of US magazine Conde Nast Traveller chose Australia’s largest city as their favourite.

The Harbour City piped San Francisco, Paris, Rome and Melbourne on a variety of criteria, including ambience, friendliness, culture and sights, restaurants, lodging and shopping. ”Visitors obviously enjoyed the very best of Sydney including our laid-back lifestyle, our iconic attractions and the beauty of our natural environment,” News.com.au quoted New South Wales Tourism Minister Jodi McKay as saying. ”This reward is a fantastic honour for the States tourism and hospitality sector and confirms what many residents already know – that Sydney is the best city in the world,” she added.
