The latest handset from Samsung aimed primarily at the ‘Youngistanis’ who want a touch-screen phone, high on features yet low on cash has managed to create quite a buzz over the past few weeks. We decided to checkout the Cool Q of Corby and let you know whether it truly delivers all that it promises to deliver or not.
Designed keeping their target audience, that is that is youngsters in mind, Samsung Corby looks rather trendy and stylish. While the front cover is black the rear side can be covered in any of the four different colored jackets, orange, white, yellow or pink.
The phone has a 2.8”, 240 X 320 pixel, 262k color, capacitive touchscreen display. Although the phone could have done with more vivid colours, but overall the display is pretty good. The touchscreen response of the phone made us happy and it responded to even the lightest of touches making typing quite comfortable.

The Samsung Corby is a GSM Quad band handset supporting 850/900/1800/1900 bands. The phone does not support 3G but does have GPRS , EDGE Class 10, Bluetooth v2.1 and USB 2.0. The overall call quality from both the ends was satisfactory. The phone comes with a standard on-screen phone keypad and there is no on-screen QUERTY mode. The standard keypad is decent and works well for applications like messaging but some users might face problems while browsing as the keypad does not automatically capitalize the alphabets after a period of time.
