"We are out of stock. Please check back soon", read the Google Play store within hours of Google Nexus 5 listing for sale in India.
While the exact number of sales could not be ascertained, according to reports, Google Nexus 5 was sold out within hours of its listing for sale.
Nexus 5, the first smartphone powered by the new version of Google’s operating system, Android 4.4 ‘KitKat’, has been creating waves since it was announced sometime in October in India.
Interestingly, it was reported to have run out of stock within hours of its listing for sale.
Moreover, for a smartphone with features such as 5-inch full-HD IPS screen display, Android KitKat, Snapdragon 2.26 GHz processor and a low price tag of Rs 28,999/ only for a 16GB variant, critics and fans alike have hailed it as one of the best smartphones to hit the market.
Perhaps, Google had underestimated the demand of its flagship when it announced the phone.
However, considering some of the spectacular features of the Google Nexus 5, it leaves us with no doubt as to why it sold out so fast.
Here are five spectacular features of Google Nexus 5:
Android ‘KitKat’: Android 4.4 ‘KitKat’ is the latest operating system from Google. Earlier, there was just Android, which changed the way mobiles operate. It was fast, smooth and sexy. Then came Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), an improved version which was followed by Android Jelly Bean, a much faster and better OS. However, KitKat should beat them all considering it is the fastest and definitely the best OS from Google.
Snapdragon 2.26 GHz processor: Google Nexus 5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.26 GHz speed processor which should easily make the smartphone one of the best Android device in the market for its performance and specifications. Supported by 2GB RAM, the Nexus 5, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, will not disappoint where it comes to speed.
Display: Nexus 5 boasts of a 4.95-inch full-HD IPS display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and a pixel density of 445ppi. Moreover, it sports a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is light, thin and scratch-free. This means, a better, clearer and more colourful picture and a screen that is care-free.
Price tag: Rs 28,999/ for a 16GB and Rs 32,999/ for the 32GB variant. Now, where does one find such low price for smartphones in that variant? Critics and fans alike have highlighted the low price as one of the main reasons for the constant sale of Google Nexus 5.
17 hours of talktime: Google Nexus 5 boasts of 2300 mAh battery which the company claims gives 17 hours of talktime and 300 hours of standby time. How true is that, one is yet to find out. However, for any smartphone to claim that much talktime and standby period is rare.
