New Delhi: HP has taken wraps off Windows 8 Ultrabooks by announcing three ultrabooks— The HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook, the HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 and the HP Envy x2.
The Spectre XT has a 1080p IPS touchscreen with 1,920 x 1,080 screen resolution. The thin Spectre XT weighs only 17.9mm and 4.77 pounds. Spectre XT has Ivy Bridge processors and can be configured with either solid-storage or a hybrid hard drive paired with a 32GB SSD.
The Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 is 14-inch laptop, thicker at 23mm. With eight hours of battery life, it weighs 4.77 pounds and has its interior similar to the Spectre XT TouchSmart. Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook boasts of 1,366 x 768 screen resolution. Powered by Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge processors this ultrabook can also be configured with an AMD graphics card.
The Envy x2 consists of a tablet with an 11.6-inch display and an attachable keyboard. Weighing about 3.1 pounds, this ultrabook uses In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology that provides for excellent viewing. The Envy x2 also has Near Field Communication technology (NFC) that is used in Smartphones which allows users to share contacts and photos.
